Frequently Asked Questions
INTERACTING WITH THE WEBSITE
How do I browse and search on the website?
There are several ways to browse and search on CLICKCOACH.
Header Bar - All CLICKCOACH content is arranged by category, separated into Vocal Works, Instrumental Works, and Instructional Topics. You will find a drop-down menu of all these selections at the top of each screen, which will take you to a category page including all of the videos contained in that particular category.
Search Bar - Once on a category page or on our catalog page, you will see a search bar located on the top right of your screen. You may search by any criteria here, including but not limited to composer, name of a work, voice type, alternate title names, video topics, etc.
Filters - On each category page or on our catalog page, you will also find a "Filters" icon.
Clicking on this icon will give you a selection of additional filters to advance your search, including:
- Author: Also known as a "coach," this category will filter your current options to include only videos made by one particular person.
- Coach Category: This selection narrows your search by instrument and area of coach/author primary expertise.
- Video Language: This selection will filter your current options to include only videos recorded in languages other than English.
New or signed out users will arrive at our landing page, where they will see our header search options, a selection of newest content, as well as a "Browse the Catalog" button. Signed in users will automatically be taken to the catalog page where they will have easy access to all video content.
Coach Search- Also found in the header bar is a coach search. You may search by type of coach here and see a list of all coaches who belong to a particular category, which includes both primary and secondary identifiers. By clicking on their name you will be taken to their biography page where you will also see a list of all the videos they have made.
Can I preview a video before I buy it?
Yes. Under each video you will find a "Watch Trailer" icon. Here you will see a short and free selection of the video as a preview.
On mobile devices this is represented only by the film icon.
How do I access my rentals after I've purchased them?
All of your current rentals are found on your catalog page under "My Library" once logged in to the website. Users have access to their rentals for 30 days from the date of purchase. To access the catalog page, click on the CLICKCOACH logo when logged in.
What are Bundles and 2-Part Videos?
Bundles are optional offers that are comprised of multiple videos ranging from two to twelve different videos of directly related content by one artist. These videos are purchased as groups of content. Several types of bundles are available on our website and every bundle is offered with a 10% discount as a thank you to our users for choosing them. Like all videos on CLICKCOACH, bundles are available for 30 days from the date of purchase. If a video is part of a bundle, you will see the purchase option and bundle price when clicking "Get Access Now" on any video in that bundle.
Common bundle types are:
Aria Study Bundle (all the arias in a single staged work by one character)
Role Study Bundle (all the arias + duets, ensembles, and scenes in a single staged work by one character)
Instructional Topic Bundle (videos focusing on topics under the umbrella of a bundle title. For example, a bundle titled "Instrument Care" may contain - Video 1: Cleaning, Video 2: Storage, Video 3: Handling; a bundle titled "Establishing a Jazz Canon" might include multiple videos discussing different influential jazz recordings in each video)
Song Cycle Bundle (all the songs/Lieder in a single song cycle)
Solo Work Bundle (all the movements/sections in a single solo work)
Concerto Bundle (all movements from a single concerto)
A 2-Part video is just as it sounds. It's a video about a single subject (an aria, a movement of a work, a single instructional topic) but divided into two separate 10-15 minute videos. These are much rarer than bundles, but occasionally you will find a video that our team deemed worthy to expand into two sections and cover more information.
THE CLICKCOACH ORGANIZATION
Is CLICKCOACH a for profit or a nonprofit organization?
CLICKCOACH is a United States based 501(c)(3) registered nonprofit organization. To learn more, visit our About pages.
Where does the money go from the videos I rent?
The support system we've created is unlike any other resource out there. Each uploader on our site has chosen either to receive revenue from the videos to themselves as a financial support system or to forward their money to the CLICKCOACH Assistance Fund ("CCAF") to help others. This is a private choice and we don't publish to where uploaders have designated their video revenue.
Artists who receive video revenue are paid 75% of the video's $1.99 rental price less a standard processing fee to transfer them the money (in most cases this is $1.00 within the United States) and discounts.
1% of the video price goes directly towards helping low-income, underprivileged, and socioeconomically disadvantaged groups.
The remaining 24% goes towards making a high payout to musicians possible, towards financial donations to other 501(c)(3) organizations who help artists, and towards covering our costs for things like video hosting, cloud storage services, various vendors used to make the website run, staff to run the organization, legal fees, and other basic needs of running a nonprofit organization.
Artists who forward their money to the CLICKCOACH Assistance Fund are generously forwarding their video proceeds to help others with 1% of these funds going directly towards helping low-income, underprivileged, and socioeconomically disadvantaged groups. This fund makes possible the high payout of 75% to artists who need it most, goes towards covering the operational costs listed above, and is applied toward donations to other 501(c)(3) artists relief organizations.
Are CLICKCOACH videos professionally recorded?
CLICKCOACH is set up to allow for professional and semi-professional artists all around the world to record their contributions with their own recording device. While we provide minimal requirements to keep a standard for our users and while each video is carefully screened by our team, videos may be of varying quality, angles, or editing style depending on the artist who uploaded them and providing they meet our quality standards. Videos are only professionally recorded if an artist elects to do this on their end, but most videos are made with the excellent quality devices most of us already have in our pockets or sitting on our desks at home or work.
Who are the artists making videos I purchase?
Artists who contribute to CLICKCOACH are professional and semi-professionals in the classical, jazz, and musical theater communities from around the world. They have experience and expertise in their fields and are contributing their discussions to support their community and to share their knowledge. The CLICKCOACH team reviews each video for content and quality so that our library can be a trusted resource for the music and music supporting communities.
How do I donate to CLICKCOACH?
We're so glad you asked! We make donating very easy because it's such a crucial part of keeping this support system alive. You can click on our Donations link start the process.
How do I become an uploader ?
We have a lot of resources for uploaders. On the bottom right of every page you'll find an Uploaders drop-down menu with all of the uploader resources. We'd suggest starting with our Become an Uploader page, which explains how the whole process works. We also have a special Uploader FAQ's page with a lot of great information to help you out even more.
